Hi,
Im looking for some guidance on possible next steps in regards to a warranty claim I may or may not have.
I bought a used car in May 25 from a main dealer, the car was two years old (23 plate).
I signed up to the manufacturers website and all singing and dancing app
looking around the website I saw I was entitled to a free map update to the latest version.
I verified my car, inputted various details in relation to the current map I had and was given access to the download.
I printed out the instructions and followed them to the letter.
on putting the usb into the car the update was recognised and I had to enter a code to proceed, I did so and the update started.
The update subsequently failed with an error message, including. Please contact dealer
I did just that.
They took it in and couldn't fix the issue and have contacted the Car manufacturer for further guidance.
early indications are that they are trying to blame me for not following the procedure correctly.
I looked around relevant forums to see a similar case with the same car and the exact same error message.
his car was newer but the dealer/car manufacturer allowed the claim under warranty.
My questions are this,
If I am denied a warranty claim, could the case in which one was offered be used to establish a precedent or possible fault
or
Would I be better going down the consumer rights act route and trying to establish an existing fault at the time of buying the car..
Any advice would be most appreciated.
Andy
