Hi - I've got approx. 8 months left on a 3 year PCP deal for a used car. The car was bought entirely on line and I didn't talk to anyone throughout the whole process.
On the front page of the Finance Agreement there are three big boxes in Bold that contain the basic important information i.e. The Agreement Number, The Repayment Details and The Contract Mileage Allowance. In the contract mileage allowance box the exact wording is "You have 39,516 miles in total."
On page two under End of Contract Options - Return, the exact wording ref. excess mileage is "Your permitted maximum mileage is 39,516 and your excess mileage charge is 4.0 pence per mile plus VAT."
Now, I've taken that to mean that I am allowed to drive 39,516 miles before attracting excess mileage charges. However, today, after a good half hour on the phone to the Finance Company they are saying that it is the car that must not have driven more than 39,516 miles when I hand it back or I will be charged excess mileage. It had already done just over 11,000 miles when I got it so in effect the number of miles i could actually drive was around 28,000 miles.
Surely this can't be fair and is some sort of miss-selling? Any advices would be gratefully accepted as I've already done over 43k
Thanks
