Advice needed please regarding voluntary termination

Hi Rob I was wondering if you could help me please I rang my finance company yesterday to do a verbal voluntary termination and it seems that's all ok and is now terminated. I just have to wait for someone to ring me who will be coming to collect my car next week . They said that I just owe £404 as that was what was left owing to bring me the the half way point . Is it ok that I just did a verbal termination? The lady on the phone said it was but I'm not sure if I can trust what she's telling me . Also you know when they come to pick it up do I have to sign anything ? Any help would be very much appreciated thank you. Michelle
