Sold car on finance potential problem

Hi what may happen if I sold car which was finance person who gave me car was claiming its his car he had insurance and his name on logbook now finance company find out it and comes after me asking where is car but I don't know because I sold

Basically I got it as collateral because my friend wanted money from me but I didn't gave like this and he offered said keep my car as guarantee I really trusted its his car because he always claimed to be very rich
reason he asked for loan as his bank temporarily blocked him and he needed travel in few hours

Now finance company all time ask phone number of people who bought it I don't have anything because my phone got problem and all data lost

I read many times people ask advice they bought car Then find out its on finance but what happens if they sell it?
or if they didn't knew sold and later finance company or police comes after them ? What happens if they say I don't have details of buyers? But they have all details that person who took finance sold car without saying its on finance
I just afraid of any potential criminal charges
Although maybe I'm paranoid it happened first time in my life even any potential trouble make me nervous already too many problems in life
