  • Unauthorised finance agreement and consequences on credit score

    Hi guys!

looking for a wee bit of advice...

I was recently enquiring about a vehicle with Peter Vardy and over the last week I’ve had 2 separate finance companies get in contact to discuss applications for 2 vehicles - the one I was enquiring about and a totally separate one I didn’t even look at!

At no point I gave Peter Vardy permission to go ahead with any finance applications and I’m presuming they have taken income details etc from a previous application a year or so ago as I didn’t give the guy any of this when I was enquiring.

At this point I had seen a car with Arnold Clark the next day that I loved and went ahead with and unfortunately the finance was declined and I presume now that was due to three finance agreements in my name put through within one weekend that would’ve picked up on that Monday so all in all I reckon about £45K worth of credit has been applied for in my name and I only gave authorisation for one finance agreement!

I was wondering what leg I had to stand on to deal with Peter Vardy

    thanks in advice!

You seem to be assuming a lot.

You need to write a letter of complaint to the dealership manager at Peter Vardy asking for a full explanation.

You could email Peter Vardy a SAR, they have 30 days to respond with all the data they hold on you.
