If you check the paperwork you probably will find that the warranty and service plan were a separate contract to the car itself. It's that's the case then they will argue that you being liable is correct.
I've seen threads where others have challenged them about this , but can't remember anyone saying that the finance people had backed. The issue is that they would have purchased the warranty up front in full from the provider and can't reclaim the non used time .
You could try to speak to the warranty/service provider directly and see if they will refund pro-rate the unused portion of the agreement

Hi
I finished my BMW PCP last September when i handed the car back. A week after i recieved a letter stating the VT had been accepted and the balance was £0.00.
In January of this year BMW contacted me and implied that the mileage had been tampered with and it was incorrect. I have not tampered with the mileage i wouldnt know where to start.
I ignored the letters thinking it was a Covid scam, then i get a missed payment on my credit report for a contract that expired in Sept 2020. So now i get declined for credit which is really annoying.
I called BMW and told them i had not touched the mileage and how disgusted i was with them. I then get a collections agency send a letter to me tryjng to getvthe money from me - £1249 in total for supposedly BMW fixing tbe problem that i never created.
So now my credit rating is garbage and they want money.
What do i do please?
Thank you
