Hi all, I've been reading the posts on this forum for the last week or so as I'm considering VT'ing my PCP with BMWFS. It's a 2015 plate that I picked up 2nd hand in Sept 2017 and has done nearly 18k miles less than I'm contractually allowed to have done by this point which should be a bonus.
I'm over 50% by almost £1000 and with all that's going on I think the payments could be better used in my savings account!
There's minor body damage as you might expect from an almost 6 year old car. Chips, light scratches from people walking past rubbing the paintwork etc. Unfortunately there's a dent in the roof, in the middle between driver and passenger. I was behind a large vehicle that was transporting rubble from a quarry and bits bounced out with one lump of rock hitting the roof. The firm and their insurance point blank refused to acknowledge that it was them as I have no dash cam footage. This was a year ago so I've accepted it and even my own insurance company said that I'd be paying more than half myself due to excess. At the time, it wasn't worth it.
I've got a few queries.
1. I can't find the thatchams parts list and costs. I know the dent in the roof means it'll be a replace job but would like an indication of cost. I was quoted nearly £350 by a local repair shop to replace the panel completely. Does anybody have any input on what I can expect?
2. Theres a slight wobble at 70mph. The wheels need balanced presumably. I'm not sure which wheel though so would need all done at £36 total. Is it worth it? Not sure if this is the kind of thing that might be picked up on and I get billed for later.
3. Cigarette lighter doesn't work, the fuse went and I cannot locate the specific fuse for it (ps it's an f22 2 series, if anybody knows which fuse I'm looking for let me know!). Will they charge me for this?
There are some marks on the car that were on it when I bought the car, of course I was too naive and excited so didn't photograph them. I've asked the dealer for all information on the car when they sold it to me and waiting for the response. From reading some of the threads and comments on here I'm comfortable that I could write something covering this in any dispute letter if it comes to it.
I would massively appreciate any tips on the queries above! Next payment is due on the 28th so wondering if I act quickly if I could save that payment but not sure how it works or when I stop paying!
