Hi,
I have VT'd my car and the inspector picked up some damage/repair work that had been done to the vehicle that I can say with certainty were not during my ownership of the car. I did not see this damage when I bought the car but the inspector said the only reason he saw it was because he is specially trained to see such damage to the paintwork and he also used a piece of equipment to highlight the damage.
The finance company have now written to me for payment but obviously I want to dispute this. Also, there is around £500 of mileage in the car which I did not use. I know that if there was excess mileage they would charge me so I am also going to claim that this value offsets the damage to the alloy wheels (which I accept happened during my ownership).
Any advice on how to word the letter will be greatly appreciated. For some reason, I can't access any of the template letters I have so far found on your forums
