Hi
I VT'd my Audi via VWFS back in May. BCA inspected and collected the car (car was perfect condition) so no fees were invoiced for wear and tear etc. I paid 50% of agreement and assumed that was the end of it. However, 2 weeks later I received an invoice for nearly £2k for 'Excess Mileage Fee'. This was a pro rata amount based on current mileage, daily allowance, active agreement days etc... the usual stuff. I was running high on miles - odometer reading 57655, pro rota miles according to them 42633, difference 15022. I then complained to VWFS and they issued a complaint number. In the meantime they simply took the £2k from my account! I have now raised an indemnity claim via my bank.
I have always been under the impression (via many sites) that excess mileage fees are non enforceable and it's simply a war of attrition with these finance companies - ie who gives in first. I do not want any marks against my name. Should I simply fight or am I better off paying up and walking away.... please help!?
