  • VW Increasing payments following deferral

Hi guys, so at the beginning of lockdown I took the option to defer my payments to VW (Personal contract hire) for my car for three months. I did this under the impression that following this my payments would just restart. However they have advised me that the term will now remain the same but my payments will increase by around 15% to make up for the three months I didn't pay for.
Surely this isn't fair.....I was happy to pay the same for the extended term, but will struggle to afford the additional charges?

Has anyone else had this issue?

They have done the same with me, the new monthly amount was £45 more than before. This was never outlined when originally requesting a payment holiday I have regrettably signed their new agreement as despite being on a payment holiday it was showing as being in arrears on my credit file and my credit score had dropped significantly. So i signed the agreement but now knowing i should have questioned it. i doubt i have a leg to stand on now i've signed new plan but wanted to let you know they did the same with me.

I haven't seen anything new on my credit file as yet....I can't see how a payment holiday can go down as arrears....surely that's not right.
I've been holding to get through to them now for almost an hour to discuss. What a joke.
