  • Timings for VT

Hi everyone, I'm due to VT my car next month and will be using the templates downloaded from here..Thanks guys....
I expect a fight with Audi Finance in regards to the mileage charge (I'm about 15k over), My Audi has just become due an inspection service, do I need to do this before I VT? Also...Do any of you guys have any experience with Audi finance Terminations....I was wondering how long it usually takes from giving notice to them coming to collect the vehicle?
    Thanks in advance.
    James.

I don't have any experience with AF but in terms of timing and when and what to get done id say get the service done if its within a month of needing one(especially if its free servicing)*
plan to keep the Tax and Insurance on the car for a month from VT date(thats more than reasonable).

Im going through this at the moment with Nissan and ive just contacted Adrian Flux who do a "lay away" policy. Ive insured the car to sit on my drive and not be driven. It was £67 for 2 weeks cover. (i needed the NCB for my new car)
Transfer your tax onto a direct debit if it isn't already and cancel it the moment the vehicle leaves your drive.
Make sure the MOT can match the tax and insurance cover also.

I personally have had no email or letter from RCI(Nissan Finance) to acknowledge my termination so be prepared for them not acknowledging it. They don't need to though, your protected under the CCA 1974, you only need to inform them of your decision to Terminate.

i have spoken to Manheim the collection agency and arranged the collection so clearly RCI have acknowledged my VT.*
