Hello, I'm new here & really hoping I can get some advice. I have a car which is on HP finance purchased in May this year.*
The Local council are currently upgrading the properties on our estate, one of the upgrades is new roofing. I spoke to the liaison officer numerous time regarding my drive as I did not want to leave my car on the side of the road ( council employee had already crashed into a neighbour's car as road so narrow). She told me as long as I moved the car during the day it will be fine.
I moved my car during the day for work to commence but when I came home they had dumped a full skip on my drive. This left me no option but to put it across the road in the local carpark.*
On Friday night upon returning from work ( work evenings so limited parking availability) I have had to put car in car park as skip still their over a week later. On Saturday morning someone has set fire to the car next to mine causing extensive damage and looking like it will be a wright off. The car that was set on fire is a non runner with no tax ,MOT or insurance. It belongs to a family a few doors down who couldn't care less about what has happened wouldn't even speak to the police about it.
As there are no witnessess the police are unable to help, the neighbours think it's funny and the council just shrug thier shoulders. Is there anything I can do? So frustrated as my car should have never been there in the first place and now with the hike in my insurance premiums I'm proberbly going to have to give up driving meaning I will also lose my job. I feel like one act has ruined my life overnight!
