VT Settlement
Hi everyone I wonder if you can help with some advice please? At the end of March 2017, I VT'd my BMW. After several months of arguing with BMW about the excess millage charge, we agreed on a settlement figure and I paid this off over 20 months. I email BMW to confirm that all payments have been made and for them to confirm conclusive of this matter. BMW called me and confirmed this by email also, but they stated "Your credit file will now be amended to show your agreement as a partial settlement and zero outstanding balance" Is this normal? I terminated my agreement as per my legal rights. The excess millage dispute, in my view, was not an agreement, it was an invoice to which I disputed. Please can I seek your legal view on this one? Many thanks in advance.

Keep an eye on your credit file and see what it says - if it does indeed say partially settled that could affected your credit score and potential to obtain credit because it suggests you owed X but only paid part of it.
With BMW, only way I see you winning your case is either through the Financial Ombudsman or going to court.If you have a question about the voluntary termination process, please read this guide first, as it should have all the answers you need.
