  • Fiat finance on a VT asking for £138 collection fee

My wife has VT'd her car, we've had confirmation from Fiat finance that nothing further is due and because the nearest Mannheim auction depot is 2 hours away, have asked them to collect the vehicle.
They're saying the fee for collection is £138 !! I'm sure I read that collection fees are unenforceable?
Leagebeagles website states as followed, can I refuse to pay this? They said something like 'it was in the small print of the initial PCP contract?'
I am being asked by the lender to pay collection charges
This is another common claim by the lenders and the simple fact is that they cannot charge you to collect the vehicle. The Consumer Credit Act states that once you have invoked your right to terminate under section 99, lender’s cannot impose any further liability which includes charging for collection of the vehicle.
