  • Voluntary terminstion

Hi I have just began the process of voluntary termination with my car company Volkswagen I paid more than the 50% owed but I received a letter from them I have to pay a £250 voluntary excess for the car to be collected can anyone help if this is the case?

Check out the template letters. Lot's of good options there. Also, I'd advise communicating only be email and then you have a record.
If you do speak to the company by phone, either record it on your mobile or ask for a transcript to be sent.
I VT'd my car on the 31st of May and am still disputing a £70 collection charge.
Thanks to this site my VT was successful, doesn't mean the finance company won't chance their hand. Good luck

Thanks for the reply do you know if the services have to be up to date as I havnt had this years done as I’ve only done 2,000 miles since the service last year but obviously the oil change notice keeps showing on my car so didn’t know if the people that are collecting it would refuse or if Volkswagen would charge me the price of a service

After reading on here it would appear that they probably will try and charge for an incomplete service history. Think it's Motonovo that try and charge £300 for a missed service, not sure how succesful they are but finance companies want as much back as possible so will try most things from what i can gather.
