  • Barclays finance

My ex partner had taken finance threw Barclays about 2 years ago for a family car, Audi A6 2011. I had been making all payments from beginning but since then we have split up and I have lost my job and went back to work but with a lot less earnings. I really would love to get rid of the car or somehow reduce my monthly payments. I fell into arrears but surrently have an agreement set up to pay and clear them witch I have stuck to. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you have paid more than 50% of the agreement you should be able to hand the car back without penalty. It's called Voluntary Termination. Look at your finance agreement and see what it says about terminating the contract.

If your ex took out the finance in his name why are you still paying it?
Do you have possession of the car?
      are you the registered keeper?
If so and the finance is in his name almost certainly the bank's T&Cs have been breached?
Do you just want to get rid of it and cease paying?
