Fca vt excess milleag due to unacceptable damage

hi guys.
so i VT my jeep woth the FCA. they have sent me a letter back with the following wording.
following your VT of your agreement, we've received you Jeep Renagade and had it indipendently inspected in line with the BVRLA fair wear and tear standard guide.

the vehicle appraisal report has highlighted the following unacceptable damage. based on the return milleage there is an excess milleage payable, detailed below
excess milleage allowed 42500 excess 26103 totaling £2349.27

so do i have to pay this or is there something i can do?

I don't believe there is anything you need to pay if you have paid over 50% of the car.
