  • Vt rental agreement

im so confused right now I was under the impression I had a contract which was a loan agreement (I paid a £600 deposit and signed an agreement to pay every 1st Saturday of the month £200) now after paying for over a year and missed 2 payments and the car has been written off the guy is saying that he put me in a rental agreement! *♀️ I’ve paid £2400 off (plus £600 which makes 3000) off the car which was £3500 (plus £600 interest) and now with the car written off and massively under valued at £900 due to high mileage the pay out after excess won’t cover the remainder of the finance. However if he is saying it’s a rental agreement where do I stand with voluntary termination and do I need to buy the car back from the insurance company to vt or because it’s written off under a rental agreement is there no further payments or do I have to buy it back! So confused

There's absolutely no way you can get help here because it all depends on 1) what the agreement actually says, and 2) full details of exactly what was said by whom to whom when and by what method when you and "the guy" were embarking on this deal. You might see if your local Citizen's Advice Bureau can arrange a meeting with a suitable lawyer.

For one thing, if it were a simple rental agreement, the car being written off would seem to be their problem, not yours. But maybe the writing off was your fault?

(Also, try to write shorter sentences. There are three in your post and it would probably be easier to understand if there were 12.)
