  • HP with MINI

I recently bought my 5th MINI on HP, and this is the first time I've had any issue with a MINI car.

On picking up the car there was an error on the dashboard that stated the battery was in need or replacement. On talking to the sales person about this, he said it would be OK and the battery will be charged by the time I have driven home, if not I should contact him and they will sort out a replacement.

Since that day (Monday 9th April 2018) I have been on the phone with the dealership asking for an update, and I've always had the same reply..."I'll send over the email to service again and they will contact you today".

I've had enough of been told this now, and I'm just wondering as this is an HP and I cannot find anything within my paperwork, do I have the right to hand the car back as there's a fault with the battery?

    Hi and welcome.
The people you should be chasing are the finance company as they own the vehicle whilst you are hiring it.

Would you be satisfied with the vehicle if the battery was replaced/fault repaired?
If so tell them, and request its replacement

If not tell them you are rejecting the vehicle as it is not satisfactory and you require a return of all monies paid

This is as per CRA 2015 (http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/...ntents/enacted)
