  • VT & Refurbishment Bill - Does not make sense

I VT'd on my 4 year Audi lease in January 2/3 months early as I was quite over on mileage and also I had a new job that did not require a commute any longer.

As part of the assessment on the vehicle some itemised refurbishment costs were outlined coming to £299.03+vat. 4 items:

Alloy Rim Spoke Damage - 36.00
    Tyre Below Tread - 116.63
    Rear Bumper Damage - 110.40
    Roof Dent - 36.00

None of which were contested. I was informed that the tyre had to be fixed before the car was taken away as BCA would not touch the car with tyre below tread.

The following day I got the tyre replaced and fixed the bumper scratches with a local garage. An invoice for these works was give to BCA the following day (So they knew the tyre has been replaced) and they took the car away.

Fast forward 2-3 weeks to this week. I receive a letter from Audi with an end of contract invoice. It has 2 items on it:

    Refurbishment Costs
    Excess Mileage Fee

The refurbishment costs are not itemised on this bill and they come to..................... £299.03+vat

I was going to send the standard template for challenging the excess mileage but I didn't want to do that until the refurbishment costs are resolved. Should I add something into the excess mileage letter template about this? Or tackle the issues separately? The refurbishment costs really do make no sense. If the tyre cost was something that I had to fix compulsory before the car was taken, how on earth has it remained on the bill?

    Thanks

    Paul
