  • MET high parking charges

    Hello,

Yesterday I received two MET PCN in post for parking at McDonald Mondial Way, each at £100 due 28 days ( and each £50 if pay in 14 days)....so total is £200 (£100).
I'm in deep pain with this high parking chargers.
I was at two day seminar in a hotel just next to the McDonald, couldn't afford hotel parking, hence parked in McDonald, I didn't know McDonald will charge me for this.
Both MET PCN have pictures of my car dated with in & out time, on both days.
Is it possible to appeal? How do I appeal?
    Can anyone please help?

    Many thanks.

Well that fails to meet the require information for keeper liability so don't be letting them know who the driver was !

            Dear Sirs,

I, as registered keeper, wish to invoke your appeals procedure. The driver did not see any signs. In any event your charges are penal in nature and not a genuine pre estimate of loss.

I am under no statutory obligation to name the driver.

Your notice to keeper fails to comply with PoFA 2012 schedule 4 para 9.

Should you reject my appeal please supply a popla code.

            Yours etc

            Once for each ticket.

When they reject your appeals come back for a suitable popla appeal.

            M1

Both PCN have pictures on the car, including the driver inside the car.
Both PCN arrived at the registered keeper's address with the registered keeper's name on it.
Is it not reasonable to assume MET officer can easily turn up at the registered keeper's address and match up the picture of the driver with the real person?

                They can but they won't.

Ok, I'll give it a go.
What do I do if MET officer decides to show up?

                    They won't.

However no comment is usually good enough when you have nothing to say. I would stress however you have better odds of winning the lotto even if you don't buy a ticket !

I can imagine in sudden tremendous shock, no words can come through my mouth.
But I don't understand, how the odds of winning the lotto can be better, when one don't buy a ticket...?
