Smart Parking fine for inputting wrong car registration = won

Hello,

Popla have upheld my appeal for a parking fine. I have the original parking ticket and parked within the time allowed, however I input a 0 instead of an O by mistake. I wrote again to Smart Parking to apologise and asked them to reconsider, however they have refused and will arrange for debt collection.

Please help as this seems so unfair.

You appealed to Smart and lost ? Have you appealed to popla and lost too ?

Yes I have appealed to Popla who say I should have read to parking signs, they have not looked at the fact that I simply input a wrong digit my mistake, not sure now how to proceed as this seem wrong.

Not much you can do if you lost at popla already.

1. Ignore all bar court papers or a letter before action.

2. Contact any landowner or retailer etc.

3. Pay.

OK thanks, do you think that the fact I have an original paid for parking ticket that this would stand up in court?

My husband emailed customer care at Matalan and the fine has now been cancelled by Smart Parking,
