  • Car Parking Shock - won

My husband parked in the Warwick Parkway Station for the first time since the new car park opened as in the old days you paid at the Ticket office & gave your reg number. He paid £7.50 at the machine, given a receipt & then visited the Gents before boarding his train. Image his horror when he returned at the end of the day to discover a Parking Charge Notice attached to the car & on inspecting his receipt found he had missed the P from P20.... Other cars in the vicinity did not have their receipts showing in the windscreen as stated on the receipt.
I wrote to METS by registered post & today tried ringing their Head Office Customer Services to ensure it had arrived but there is nobody to take the call at 10.15! Left a message on the ansaphone.
Does anyone know the outcome please?

My crystal ball is a bit fuzzy.

Have you tracked it online ? https://www.royalmail.com/track-your-item

Is this a private parking ticket ? Met parking ?

Thank you M1 as I did not appreciate you could track the letter but it arrived 4th April. MET Parking Services are a private company responsible for the train station parking. Husband also noted several cars in his vicinity which were not displaying tickets on their windscreen as the Parking Charge Notice Issue Reason being No valid Ticket/Voucher/Permit in breach of Railway Byelaw 14

        Re: Car Parking Shock

Warwick Parkway is always hit and miss with tickets being issued whenever I've parked there - seem quite selective when issuing tickets.

Anyway I'm sure M1 will help you where he can

Difficult to see as half the sign is missing, but is there actually a requirement to input the registration number correctly and is there a right to charge £100 in the event you don't ? (on the sign that is)

                        Re: Car Parking Shock

The left hand of the sign is for car parking costs but in Terms and Conditions 1.2 A Valid car parking ticket must be displayed at all times so as to be clearly visible within your vehicle whilst it remains in the car park.Failure to do so may result in a parking charge being issued and or wheel clamping with a release charge payable over and above the parking charge. 7.1 All correspondence should be addressed to MET Parking Services Ltd....with their address
There is no mention elsewhere in Terms and Conditions of the registration number being required but on the Ticket Machine it does ask for the car registration number but no mention of a penalty if this is not correct.
                        Thanks...Elaine

Hello mystery1 I have phoned MET as my appeal letter arrived with them on 4th April to check the progress but they do not communicate by phone only letters.
The address given is totally different as Parking Charge Enquiries MET Parking Services Limited PO Box 60271 London EC1 1PG to the one which is advertised on the Terms and Conditions board and where I sent my letter to.

Did they acknowledge that you had appealed at all ?
