  • MET Parking Charge Notice - won

I have been issued with a £100 charge for overstaying at my local Sports Centre car park - I have used the Sports Centre for at least 6 years but had never realised that there was a limit to how long you could park there for. There appears to be inadequate signage unlike at the local supermarket car park which has a very large board by the entrance to the car park that flashes up your reg number and what time you can park until.
    Any advice?

Speak to the manager, take pictures in case you need the evidence and appeal.

    Dear Sirs,

I, as registered keeper, wish to invoke your appeals procedure. The driver was a genuine customer and the signs are awful.

It is noted that your notice to keeper is fundamentally flawed when compared to PoFA 2102 schedule 4 para 9.

Should you reject my appeal please supply a popla code.

    Yours etc

If/when you get a popla code please let me know.

      Hi Mystery 1
I hope I am replying in the correct way! Thank you for your advice, I will take photos as you suggested and talk to the Manager.
Would you advise emailing the "letter" you have suggested invoking the appeals process or should I use snail mail?
      Thanks again.

Email/internet 100%. Cheaper and if it doesn't bounce, they got it.

                Hi Mystery 1
I contacted the manager as you suggested and without being asked to do so, she cancelled the ticket and charge on my behalf so I am very pleased with the result!
                Thanks
