We have one of these letter too. My hubby was waiting to pick up our daughter, and bought stuff at Mc ds in Gatwick. Daughter was a bit late, and hungry, so she also wanted to eat. This meant they overstayed the hour by 24 minutes. My hubby said he wasn't aware of any notices, so they can't have been very 'in your face'. We have proof of purchase, if that helps.
Looking at other threads, is the following letter ok?
Dear Sirs,
I, as registered keeper, wish to invoke your appeals procedure. The driver genuinely did not see any signage and was a genuine customer. After purchasing from McDonalds the driver met up with another person, who then also wanted to eat from McDonalds before leaving. Proof of these purchases can be provided.
I am under no statutory obligation to name the driver on this occasion, and will not do so.
Should you reject my appeal, please supply a popla code.
Yours etc
Not sure if this can be emailed. The back of the letter has appeals and complaints procedure, further ingo and payment information.
