  • Parking eye Fine wallsall - Won

Hi, I am new to the forum

My company received the attached picture. It was me who was driving the vehicle but had no idea that there was a parking charge. May I ask your opinion on what I should do next. Thanks

I can't see your attachment (maybe too small? - it comes out blurry if I try and zoom in on it)
    Have you appealed?

Hi, not sure why it's blurry I can see it. I haven't appealed this is the first thing we received. It has two photos of my vehicle, the time I enter and the time I leave the car park. It says if I pay early it is £50 original fine is £85. It is a parking charge notice. Hope that helps

Appeal the parking fine with PE asking they supply a popla code
        Dear sirs,

I, as registered keeper, wish to invoke your appeals procedure. The driver was unaware of any parking charge. In any case your charges are penal and not a genuine pre estimate of loss.

I am under no statutory obligation to name the driver and will not do so. (???)

Please accept my appeal or supply a popla code.

        Yours etc
amend to suit (I'm not sure if you actually need to identify the driver now or not, but I'm sure someone will notify us if you do :nod. If they reject your appeal and supply a popla code you then appeal to popla as per THIS advice :tinysmile_twink_t2:

The company named him as keeper not driver as they have no way to know this. However it matters little and if following the advice he'll win

Do you have to identify the driver now M1? Or can the keeper still refuse to say who was driving?

Nothing stopping you not identifying the driver. If it came to court then perhaps they would draw inference from the companies nomination and decide in the absence of a denial that the op is the driver on the balance of probability.

However it matters not really as popla will be a gift for him anyway.

                    Hi,

I have replied to Parking eye using their online Email system, I have taken a picture of the screen saying the message has been sent. Is this the right procedure I should have taken or would a letter sent be better. It says they can take up to 14 days to reply. Do they always reply and is there anything else I should do.

                    many thanks

                        Re: Parking eye Fine wallsall

I had a reply from Parking eye. Saying the following

                        Dear Sir / Madam,
We refer to the Parking Charge incurred on 20 October 2014 at 15:02:12, at Crown Wharf Shopping Park, Walsall car park.
We can confirm that this Charge has been cancelled and there is no outstanding payment due on this account.
                        Kind Regards,
                        ParkingEye Team

So thanks for all your help Kati and Mystery 1 really appreciated
