  • County court claim now

Have now received a County court claim for for 240 odd £££s which started back in February.
A small car park controlled by OPS, roughly 20 bays, all of which were taken.
I parked on tarmac that was not a bay and that had no double yellow lines.
I was there they say for 4 minutes. A few months ago OPS were booted off the site by the landlord because of their ruthless pursuit of enforcement by cameras, it was all in the local paper about it. They have now been replaced by another operator who have now decided to double yellow the area where I parked.
Should I now show a defence of the claim and make a counterclaim?
Or is this now a lost cause and should pay up after failing previously with Popla etc?
    Your help is appreciated.

Don't know because you have not posted up the PCN you received nor a copy of the signs. Pictures of the place would be nice

But first acknowlege the claim using the info and password on the form. Noting in the defence

Did you manage to check out the original post Ostell?
So in a nutshell would the judge be interested in my defence of the fact I was there for 4 mins they say, all bays were taken so I parked on blank tarmac. I have a local newspaper article headline stating that the parking operators are due to be booted off the site because of too many complaints (they have been booted off) also the new operators have put in double yellows where I parked.

Finally, quite a while ago now before all this covid 19 struck there was supposed to be a telephone mediation that was set but never happened.
Then got a court date and court number for late October for me to appear then but out of the blue a couple of weeks ago I got a letter from Gladstones saying that they had dropped the case? Thought you might like to know.
