Hi,
ive received a parking ticket from ukcpm about a year ago for parking in the car park outside my flat. I did not have a permit however I was due one within 2 days. At the time I knew there was space in the car park for my car, so I wouldn’t have taken anyone place as the person who had the permit before me, no longer parked there.
So I received a parking charge and completely ignored it, I didn’t agree with it and I read on the internet I didn’t need to pay private parking charges that I didn’t agree with. However, I contacted the number on the poster in the car park but all the information on the poster seems to be fake. The number didn’t work, the website took me to someone who had worked for the company on the poster years ago. Ive attach the poster outside the car park which I used to contact the landowner. I even called ukcpm they said they don’t own the car park?
Ive now got a court claim from Gladstone’s solicitors unless I pay £268 which is so unfair because I’ve tried to contact them every way possible.
I just think this this is so unfair, I don’t have the money to pay £268 and Gladstone solicitors don’t seem to care that I cannot contact their client and they won’t budge from the price!
This may sound silly but if I take this to court will I have to pay for extra for the court it and will I be able to defend the fact that I was unable to contact anyone regarding this issue? Gladstone’s haven’t given me a court date either so I don’t know what will happen.
Would really appreciate some help from someone who understands what’s going on here cause I’m so lost.
