      Afraid not, where would the driver go from here?

      Should they contact the debt management company? Reason being they are in the process of looking to purchase a home and wouldn't want something like this to go against them.

      They have asked the debt company to advise the next step but haven't heard anything back.

      Thank you for your help regarding this matter.

        Well they could tell them they've appealed and are awaiting the result.

        The debt company are of no threat to the credit file. The ONLY way this could become an issue is if court proceedings take place, your mate loses and then doesn't pay within 28 days something a debt collector cannot do as it is not their debt to take court action upon unless they are assigned which most are not.
