  • Parking charge notice, do you have to pay it?

    Hi All

This evening I have walked In to a parking charge notice from London parking solutions.

I was stopped in a loading bay for a few minutes to take a call after just using the local Tesco metro on the same site.

Do I have to pay this by law as the pictures do show me in the bay and the signs but 3 pictures show two different times a total of 67 minutes apart.

The letter states that if I don't pay this it will be passed to a debt collection agency with further costs added or even taken to court. Can they in force this this or is it easier just to pay the fine of £100 or £60 if it's paid within the 14 days?

Many thanks for any advice given

      Dear Sirs,

I, as registered keeper, wish to invoke your appeals procedure. The driver did not see any signs. In any event your charges are penal in nature and not a genuine pre estimate of loss.

I am under no statutory obligation to name the driver and will not do so.

      Yours etc

They are IPC members and their version of popla is pretty rank. It's still a penalty though so i'd still appeal and if rejected let them do court if that's what they want.
