  • Park & Control PCN - Unauthorised Parking - Streatham Leisure Center, London

    Hi,

On 18th January, the driver was unable to buy a parking ticket due to the machine not working. It stated that no server was available. There is an picture of this.

On 16/03/26, I the registered keeper, received a letter from a company called Debt Recovery Plus who stated I owe £150 due to missing two payment deadlines.

I realised I had stupidly not updated my address on V5C when moving house. Luckily my landlord had retained the letters and were able to share with me the PCN (pictured). The V5C is now updated

I am yet to contact either Park & Control or the Debt Recovery Plus company.

I would appreciate any advice on this matter.

Good news is you can ignore Debt Recovery Plus, who are toothless debt collectors.
They may get nasty and write again in big red scary letters ,

Eventually you will probably get a court claim, but that can be defended.

If you have put up a complete copy of the PCN, I see the parking company have failed to comply with the regulations to transfer liability from the charge from the driver to you the registered keeper.
(the PCN doesn't specify the location of the event).
So when posting here , or writing to them, do not identify the driver ... always communicate as the registered keeper.

      Thanks for the above.

So as the registered keeper. what should my next step of action be? Do I have to just wait to see if they take tto court? Or should I be proactively reaching out and sharing the photo supplied that the ticket machine wasnt working?
Is any court claim likely to go to the original address or the updated one on the V5C?

      Thanks

If neither Park & Control nor Debt Recovery Plus do not have your current address it would indeed be a good idea to write to them (without identifying the driver) denying you admit any liability for alleged unpaid parking charge, and telling them your current address.
Send the letters either by first class post with free certificate of posting from post office, or by email read receipt.
