DEBT RECOVERY PLUS (DRP) acting on behalf of SMART PARKING

Got a letter from Smart Parking about a parking charge and chose to ignore it. Now, a short time later, I've got a letter from DRP saying I need to pay them and that if I don't, they will recommend to Smart Parking that they take me to court to get the money from me.

What should I do at this stage in the game? Continue to ignore, or respond? What is likely to happen with Smart Parking, are they one of the parking companies who really do take you through to the courts or do they drop everything once they realise your not going to give in? If they have a reputation for court action, then I intend on paying (though it'll be monthly installments on MY TERMS and not the full amount) .

I am hoping others with direct experience can advise. Many thanks.

Ignore.

As yet they are not litigious.

Hi there, I did ignore as advised all correspondence from them, and have received one yesterday saying there is a final offer to make a reduced payment in full (or to ring them to discuss payment options); and if I don't respond to this letter by the 18th of this month, they will refer the matter back to their client (SMART PARKING) who will then start court proceedings against me. FINAL OFFER BEFORE COURT PROCEEDINGS COMMENCE. Should I still ignore?

mystery1, just to update you: DRP have referred the case now to a "Zenith Collections" who have sent me a letter about taking payment before legal action will be commenced. Do I still ignore or is it time to realise this is getting serious now and that I ought to pay up?

P.S. I don't want to be scared into doing so if I don't have to
