Gatwick Mcdonalds parking fine from MET

Hi all, I know there are already several cases of this online for the mcdonalds at Gatwick. Stopped off on the way to pick up girlfirend, Went in for breakfast and hung around not realising there was a parking time limit on the carpark. I didn't see any signage on my way in, there may have been but I guess I assumed it would be the same as any other fast food restaurant. So getting to the point I received a parking fine in the post last week for £100 as I stayed in the car park 11 minutes too long. The limit was 60 mins. Firstly this seems very steep. Let alone when your using the restaurant. Its from MET parking services and I hear they are cow boys!

As for my next step. I have seen online people saying to just ignore it and it will go away. Or to send in an appeal.

Can you experts out there please advice me the next step.

The driver left within the grace periods as defined within section 13 of the BPA code of practice. The driver is required to have both a reasonable time to interpret any signage and make a decision as to whether they wish to accept or decline and a further grace period of 10 minutes to leave. 11 minutes in total would fit within this criteria.

Follow the information in the link but use the reason from post 4.

I'd say you have a very good chance to win at some point, probably popla.

The driver left within the grace periods as defined within section 13 of the BPA code of practice. The driver is required to have both a reasonable time to interpret any signage and make a decision as to whether they wish to accept or decline and a further grace period of 10 minutes to leave. 11 minutes in total would fit within this criteria.

Should you reject my appeal, please supply a popla code.

That's what i meant but there is certainly no harm in yours and in fact if they were customers then saying so is never harmful and can only really be of benefit. So, yes i'd use what you posted.
