  • SMART Parking @ Asda

Hi ....pls can someone help me??

I had a business meeting in Starbucks early evening last night (10/02/16). The Starbucks shares the same site as Asda & Subway and they all share the same carpark. I had parked on the Starbucks side away from Asda. I purchased my 'Drink in' drinks in Starbucks at 4.04pm. My business meeting finished at approx. 5.40pm and as I was walking out my car their was a guy from SMART Parking sticking a parking to my car. It was only then when I looked at the signs that it was free parking for just 1 hour!!!

    Do I pay it????

    Thanks
    Jo

Wait for the notice to keeper which should take between 28 days & 56 days.

In the meantime contact Starbucks management and ask them to cancel.

When a ticket is placed on a car this is a "notice to driver". Should you not respond they wouldn't have a clue who you were so couldn't do anything about it. They then write to DVLA and ask who the registered keeper is and write to them. "notice to keeper"

In order to pursue the registered keeper there are statutory requirements which they usually screw up, which helps us win at the 2nd stage appeal since Smart parking themselves usually reject the 1st appeal directly to them.

you should receive a NtK in the post (the windscreen ticket is known as a "Notice to Driver") ... Smart Parking will apply to the dvla for the registered keeper's details and post a ticket to there

                    Re: SMART Parking @ Asda

You compare it with the requirements of POFA paragraph 8 and if anything is wrong or missing then you write back to them, as the keeper, and tell them that as they have failed to comply with POFA the keeper can not be held liable. Please direct your attention to the driver at the time and you do not expect to hear from them again, other than to confirm that there is no action against you.

I'm sure M1 has a suitable letter in his collection.

Sanitise it and post it up.
