  • Met Parking Services, McDonalds, Ocean Retail Park, Portsmouth

Hello there, I fear I am too late to be saved but I'd like to ask for help anyway please. I'm at the stage where, having received the original PCN, a reminder, an overdue notice and a notification of liability, I've now had a demand for payment, which has now increased from the original £100 to £150, with no prior warning. When I received the initial PCN in October 2014, we did some research but now realise it was all out of date, as the advice, particularly from a solicitor on Watchdog, was to ignore everything! I'm starting to wobble, even though I'd love a day in court to defend myself, having not even committed what I believe to be a crime.

Is there anything I can do at this stage, bearing in mind most of the time of my stay was in the McDonalds restaurant in question. Thank you.

Unless the driver was not the keeper i'd ignore all but a letter before county court claim. (file the letters in a drawer)

However it may prove fruitful to ask McDonalds and/or why they treat customers like crap etc.

Thank you, I have contacted the retail park and have emailed the overall site manager asking who owns the land and whether there is a written contract between them and Met Parking. I've also asked for his opinion on how customers to the park are treated if they enter the one and only aisle that has this parking restriction on the whole site and how dangerous it would be to read the actual sign before entering this aisle as you are busy making sure no one is on the Zebra crossing in front of you and looking for oncoming traffic as it's a right turn.

I've also had a voicemail message today from the Business Manager of McDonalds so I'll ring him tomorrow for his thoughts and to get the correct address to send my formal complaint to.

Fingers crossed that one of these avenues can resolve this issue for me and then I plan to contact the local press to raise awareness for other unsuspecting motorists.

Thanks for your advice, it's nice to know I don't need to panic yet
