  • Scotch Corner Holiday In Darlington PARKING EYE PCN

    Received Parking Eye PCN.
Date of event 23 Jan 15
    Date issued 29 Jan 15

Met colleague for a coffee / sandwich in Holiday Inn.
    Arrival Time 13:20
    Departure time 15:50
    2 hours 47 minutes

    I saw no sign.

The PCN states signage is clearly displayed.

This is a POPLA PCN. Can I safely ignore this?

Don't ignore!! Appeal to PE asking for a POPLA code if they reject your appeal ... then appeal to POPLA (using the number provided by PE)

According to one website, the Holiday Inn carpark at Scotch Corner is now 'run' by Parking Eye, but they provide free parking for guests and visitors if they provide full car registration details at reception (http://www.ihg.com/holidayinn/hotels...dl/hoteldetail). Then, according to Holiday Inn Scotch Corner's website (http://www.hidarlington.co.uk) they've got FREE parking. So the change must have happened quite recently

Maybe you can, but i wouldn't risk it as Parking Eye have been taking many thousands of motorists to court in the last 2 years.

Contact Holiday Inn if you were a customer. http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUse...e_England.html http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUse...e_England.html shows they might help.

Also appeal direct to parking eye.

      I'd appeal.

      Dear Sirs,

I, as registered keeper, wish to invoke your appeals procedure. The driver did not see any signs. In any event your charges are penal in nature and not a genuine pre estimate of loss.

I am under no statutory obligation to name the driver and will not do so.

If you reject my appeal please supply a popla code.

      Yours etc

If they supply a popla code please return and i'll sort out a popla appeal for you.

Do send proof of purchase if possible (only a copy though) and add a line in to say the driver was a genuine customer if you can back it up.
