Parked in front of gate late evening, but remained in car. Parking notice was far away and not legible in the dark. When a passerby informed me of getting parking tickets, I moved my car forwards straightaway. Also parking fine image of my car does not show its number plate. Do I need to pay this fine or can I contest it?

I would certainly challenge this charge.
From Google Earth I note the entrance to this car park is a gap between two houses,
In Google's view the gate is closed about midway between the houses, and the camera seems to be mounted on the side of the house.
Was the gate open, and if so did the driver proceed beyond the gate?
I would write along the following lines:
Dear Sirs
Complaint
I have received your Notice to Keeper xxxxx for vehicle VRM xxxx
I note there is nothing on your notice to indicate that the vehicle specified is the one shown in the photographs.
.I note from research on Google Earth that the notice at the entrance of the nominated car park does not have the signage mandated by the Single Sector Code of Practice, which as a member of both BPA and IPC you should be following.
Further, the time allegedly parked is less than the 10 minute consideration period, which viewing the poor light conditions at that time of day would be required to find and read any signs that may be present at that particular site. As there is no signage at the entrance, I would not be surprised to find signs in the car park itself are unlit and difficult to read, if located or even easily visible
I do not believe the driver of the vehicle registered to me could possibly have agreed to contract to park there (if ever he did in view of the lack of evidence)
Accordingly, as keeper I am complaining about your service, and not appealing.
Yours etc.
mail first class post with free certificate of post from post office to:
Euro Parking Services Ltd., Complaints Department, Office 2, 51 Pinfold street, Birmingham, B2 4AY.
Also find out who the landowner is and complain in writing to them and request them to have the charge cancelled
Do NOT identify the driver to anyone .
Keep everything in writing... do not phone.
They mostly don't accept representations as valid (after all they only want your money!) and so will continue to harass you, but if you stick to your guns they will probably eventually discontinue, even after possibly initiating a court claim

so you could respond by telling them you are still awaiting a reply to your complaint of dd.mm.2026.
Additionally you note their NTK of is not compliant with POFA 2019 schedule 4 sec 9 (2) (h) so they cannot transfer liability for any unpaid charges from the driver to you the keeper.
Also you can tell them that having looked on Google Earth it seems their signage is not capable of forming a contract.
Also the poor quality photographic evidence does not show your VRM, and the vehicle does not appear even to be in a carpark.
For all those reasons tell them you have no intention of paying their speculative invoice
Regardless of all that they will continue in their attempts to persuade you to pay!

Well appealing to IAS is a waste of time anyway as they are not truly independent.
So your options now are i) pay their invoice (not recommended)
ii) write pointing out their response reads like a template and does not answer any of the points you raised.
You could also mention that their letter was not received in time for you to appeal, and by the way IAS decisions are only binding on the parking company, not the defendant.
(they can't stop themselves misrepresenting matters)
iii) ignore and await a letter of claim or the court claim
