Parking Ticket - Private Land

Hello people,

First, I'm sorry if this has been asked before, which I'm sure it has. I need some advice please.

I received a Parking Charge Notice after I parked on a private car park to visit a building next to the car park. I was gone ten minutes and the next week I received the PCN in the post.

The car park is very small and the place I parked has a wall running from one end to the other and there are no signs there. However, there are signs on the other side of car park, but no ticket machine. The only condition is to use the businesses that adjoin the car park - there are 4 of them.

I hadn't seem the signs anywhere as they are hard to see. There were non where I parked.

I will admit - I didn't visit any of the businesses there, but did visit the building that has the wall next to the car park.

Should I pay this, because a £60 fine is unreasonable and it was early in the morning and there was nobody around - my car was the only car there.

Should I ignore this, fight it, or just pay?

Any advice is much appreciated.

I advise you to fight against it.* I received a PCN and fought it and won.** remember that the parking operator has to prove that you are in the wrong.* If there are no signs there than they are at fault as they need to be registered with BPA or the other one I can't remember the name of that body.** Anyway, do not admit to being the driver.* Only call yourself the registered keeper as they need to prove that you are the driver.** Appeal with them first and if you fail that appeal, which is highly likely, remember to ask for* POPLA code.
