Hospital Parking PCN Parking Eye

My wife parked at a hospital car park managed by parking eye. She was transporting her very ill brother in law to A&E.
She put what she thought was the correct money in the machine £2.00 for 2 hours. She did not closely read the signs as the correct fee is £3.00 for 2 hours.
So 6 weeks later she has had a PCN with 2 photos of her car entering/exiting the hospital with a 50 min overstay.
I am not very confident that she has a case for poor signage as there a plenty of them, she did not closely read the signs as she was focussed on getting her brother in law to A&E ASAP.

I would like some advice, even if its "pay up"

She could try contacting PALS at the hospital to see if they'll get it cancelled?

PALS is certainly the first port of call.
However, these PCNs can usually also be challenged in the usual way on the usual grounds (defective notices, signage etc).
So pictures of site signs, Notices to Keeper etc (personal details suitably obscured) would be an advantage.
It is estimated that over £13 million-worth of PCNs were issued last year just via hospital patient/visitor cases alone.
