  • Car Park Liability

I hit a pipe when reversing into a parking space in my local Sainsbury's car park. I felt that the pipe was poorly positioned and should have been better marked. It was well inside the area of the marked parking space and was painted white (the same colour as the walls). It was very hard to see when reversing into the space. As an safety professional will tell you, reverse parking should be the safest way to park.

    See photos here https://www.amazon.co.uk/clouddrive/...hare_link_copy

Do I have any claim against the carpark owner (Sainsburys) for the ~£400 cost of repairing the dent?

Poorly lit indoor car park with unmarked , almost concealed, hazard...... must be worth at least a complaint to Sainsburys initially.
Suggest to them that they report it to their public liability insurers (although they probably carry an excess larger than your claim)
See what their reaction is prior to taking it further
