The ParkingEye are claiming that I was 11 minutes late leaving the car park. They are starting their clock from the minute I entered the car park not the minute I paid from.
I entered the car park at 0943. I bought a 2 hour ticket via phone app at 0951 (I had to add the app to my phone). I wasted some time trying to find the correct amount of change in the bottom of my bag prior to this. I exited the car park at 1155.
I was essentially 4 minutes late leaving the car park however I had returned to my car well in advance of the end of my ticket but took some time to put two children under 5 into their car seats, a beach wagon, two bags and myself back into the car.
Is £100 really justified for 4 minutes?
They have aver offered me the discounted price of £60 if I pay in 14 days.
Do I ignore the letter and the those that will follow or should I follow the appeal process. It seems ridiculous that there is no grace period to allow for entering and exiting your vehicle. I'm really annoyed as the car park is owned by the church.
TIA for any help.
