Excel parking Stockport

Peel centre . There is a small area of separate car park near a takeaway. The bollards at entry were covered and said machine out of order. There was no instructions to go and pay elsewhere. They have now sent me court papers for Northampton court which i cannot reasonably attend. ( I am 68). I would have liked to attend to explain my situation. Any advice please. When it first happened rang them but couldn't get any sense from them. I was hoping that I could explain in court under oath. Why do they use Northampton when the issue relates to Stockport?

The papers are from the central processing office in Northampton. Later on in it will be transferred to your local court, the one that you choose.

Edit your first post so that the driver of the car cannot be inferred. User phrases like "the driver did this..." , "The driver did that."

Have you got a copy of the original notice that was sent to you by Excel, the Parking Charge Notice?

With the papers you will have a web address and a password. Logon to that site and acknowledge the claim and say you will be defending in full. DO NOT PUT ANYTHING IN THE DEFENCE AREA. Any questions or unsure then come back her. You only have 14 days to acknowledge, if you do not they can default the claim and the judgement will be against you. Acknowledging gives you 28 days from the service of the claim to send a defence, which you will be helped with here. This is 28 days for the date of service.

Explaining your situation might not amount to a defence. However don't abandon hope. Post up the claim form suitably sanitised and get pictures of the signs if you can.
