I got a PCN from Hackney Council on Saturday.
I parked within a bay and used the app Ringgo to pay the parking charges for a 3 hour stay, got back to the car and had a penalty notice.
I had entered the parking location code which was listed on the parking machine and it gave me a location which I assumed was right and paid for 3 hours. I never usually go to or park in this part of London. I have since looked at the receipt I got from Ringgo and the PCN and realised that the 2 locations are different.
I dont know if this was my fault for entering it in wrong or if the location number on the side of the machine is wrong. Im not going to get the opportunity to go back and check
But anyway, I paid for the parking in 'good faith' and have a receipt which shows this, albeit for the wrong location.
Do I have grounds for an appeal? Or should I just suck it up and pay the £65?
Any advice would be welcome
