  • 2 x Letters of Claim - BW Legal - PCN - Not My Car

    Good Evening.

Standard if this is the wrong place then apologies. I can't find a similar situation whilst googling so I am looking for some advice.

I sold my previous car 04/02/15. I hadn't sold a car before so when signing over the log book I left the whole log book at the buyers house. 11/02/15 I pick up the log book and send it off. 11/03/15 the log book comes back (my fault) and I send it off again. Job done.

Anyway a few months later I receive a letter from Excel about a parking charge. As per advice at the time I ignored. The charge was from 23/02/15.

Then out of the blue BW legal appear. They start sending letter which I ignore, right up until the final notice. The reason I perked up at this stage, other than the threatening language, was that two charges had now appeared. Now I have been throwing these things away but I was only ever throwing one PCN away not two. This new one was for the same place but 18/03/15.

Now I am at the letter of claim stage. I am looking for advice on what is my best way forward from this point.

I didn't own the car, I was late sending the log book, and over a year later a separate charge appeared. I have attached an image of one of the letters. The other is the same. If it is too low res I can email the full copy.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Send them an email/letter telling them you sold the car and the name and address of the person you sold it to. This will extinguish keeper liability and should stop them hassling you.
