  • Excel Parking - Stockport. Ignore or appeal?

    Hi

I have received a parking fine of £60 from Excel Parking Ltd.

I did attempt to pay for a ticket, however the machine took my money and did not issue a ticket. i had no cash or phone on me and could not find anyone on the car park to assist. A kind lady offered to pay for another ticket but i declined (why should she pay when i already had!) I put a note in my window explaining what had happened and was parked for 37 minutes.

I have now received this notice and don't know what to do. In my naivety i had drafted a letter explaining this, believing they would understand and dismiss it. however my work colleagues are advising i do not acknowledge it at all, to just completely ignore it and although i'll probably get lots more letters to just keep ignoring and it will go away eventually,

That goes against the grain for me, however i really do not think i should have to pay £60 when it was not my fault.

    Help please!!!
