  • PCN of Contravention at Calshot Street, Islington

Can anyone help - is there a resident expert for these situations here?
I have received a ticket turning right into Calshot Street from Collier Street in Islington, London.
I have never in all my 43 years of driving turned down the wrong way of a one way street, the signs just did not inform me.
I wrote to Islington Parking Services and told them I felt that if many people were doing the same thing then there was obviously a problem with the position of the signs.
They wrote back and said they did not agree with me and that I had to pay.
I went back to the junction, the camera had been removed but in the 2 minutes I stood there three people did exactly the same thing.
I have now contacted the Freedom of Information department at Islington council to find out how many contraventions they give out on a daily, weekly and monthly basis at this intersection and how much revenue it is generated.

If anyone has been through anything similar could you please let me know - especially if it is the same location as we can join together.

    Thanks
    Jemima

I am going back there today to take some photos - the signs were not at the corner of the street where they usually are but a few metres back and much smaller. Will post photos tomorrow.
