Hi, my 17 year old daughter went to McDonald's in Banbury and got a milk shake with a mate, they say chatting in the car park and about an hour later went in for a meal, then came back out and sat in the car park, and then got a coffee. She ended up staying for 124 minutes and we received a letter stating this. The picture of her car at 18.25 is very clear, but the picture they have offered of her supposedly leaving 124 minutes later is very unrecognisable. She doesn't think she was there for that long and the picture of her car (with the insert of her number plate) is more or less black. She may have been there for that amount of time but she was a regular customer within that time so my question is :- Is there any way she can get out of this fine if the picture of her car and reg number is unclear

I would say appeal and then when rejected go to popla based on the fact i believe the notice to keeper doesn't comply with PoFA 2012 schedule 4 para 9. This does risk the charge being £100 rather than £60 but also potentially zero.

      Dear Sirs,

I, as registered keeper, wish to invoke your appeals process. The driver did not see any signs and was a genuine customer. I note your notice to keeper is fundamentally flawed when compared to PoFA 2012 schedule 4 para 9 in several aspects .

Should you reject my appeal please supply a popla code.

      Yours etc

If popla is need let me know.
