• Help needed with Letter from Parking eye

Hi i need some help with drafting a letter challenging a notice from parking Eye. I was parked in Morrisons and stayed over the time limit. As a result they want to charge me. Can someone please help me draft a response? I have proof if needed for what i was doing there ( shopping).

Thank you

mystery1 should be able to help is there any chance you could post up a redacted copy of the letter (or email it to me and I will - kati@legalbeagles.info) and possibly get photos of the signs etc... too??

It would help as well to go back to Morrisons and find the manager (not the customer help desk) and demand that they get the ticket cancelled for a paying customer. Take your receipts with you.

Would something like this do?

Dear Sirs,

I, as registered keeper, wish to invoke your appeals procedure. The driver, whom I am under no statutory obligation to name, did not see any signs. The details quoted in your letter are from a time when the vehicle was parked at the location for the correct reasons. I have since contacted the Hotel who have confirmed this and i am able to provide proof of the stay at the Hotel. If you would like any evidence please contact me. You can also contact the hotel to confirm the drivers legitimate reason for parking.
In any event your charges are penal and not a genuine pre estimate of loss.

Should you reject my appeal please supply a popla code.

Yours Mr M

Cheeky ! The highlighted text is no doubt referring to Beavis which has been allowed to go to the supreme court after the appeal court and waiting for the judgement to be handed down. It can therefore not set a precedent nor can it be considered binding.

Hold on Muzy . The appeal is no use for a letter before action.

Did you never get a parking charge notice ?

Re: Help needed with Letter from Parking eye

I received a notice prior to this one asking for lower amount of payment but didnt pay attention as the hotel told me i was rightful to park.. the mistake i think i made was not responding at the time. Does this change the action i have taken so far? mystery1

Very much so.

Get straight on to the manager of the hotel.

I'll compose a reply later.

No i called them when i got the letter and they confirmed on the phone that i was allowed to park and they advised me that i should ring them but after calling had no luck in speaking to someone so i decided to use the appeal process through their website mystery1
