Hello, could someone advise me about a parking ticket from UKPC, i parked at the Metro centre in a disabled space but when i have closed the door my disabled badge must have slipped from view or my husband could have knocked it off as he has to struggle to get out of our car, we only went in a furniture shop when we returned the parking notice was on my car stating pay £60 or £30 within 14 days as failing to display a valid blue badge clearly, the girl in th\e shop said the were putting them on lots of cars even for touching the white line, do i have to pay this as we do have a valid badge, thank you x

Re: parking in a disabled bay
This has happened to me a couple of times and I have appealed through the local council and won the appeal. There is an appeal form on line for UKPC but I would wait till someone with more knowledge of them comes along and helps you.

Re: parking in a disabled bay
First go into the shop, complain loudly (especially if you bought furniture) and get them to force UKPC to cancel the ticket. Then wait for the Notice to Keeper to arrive. They will try and hold the keeper liable, under POFA, but may make a few slip ups that make that impossible and so can only go after the driver who they don't know. The NTK should arrive between day 28 and 56 after the event. If and when you do have to make an appeal to PPC you will be able to use disability legislation to bring a claim against both UKPC and the Metro centre.
Others will be along to add comments. Please wait.
