Hi I was wondering if there is anyone on this site can correct me on something with a pcn I got. I got a parking ticket in a street that I have been parking in for the last 3 years for parked in a restricted street during prescribed hours. This street does not have any parking restrictions (cavendish street belfast) with no signage stating it. My bumper was over the double yellow lines and I originally thought that was what the fine was for untill I read the letter properly. Also the ticket was not on my car and I only found out I got this fine one and a half months later that has now doubled. It was outside a shop so could have been removed by kids or the wind im not sure. Long story short why would they write that on a ticket when this residential street is not restricted to times. I would get it if it was to do with the yellow lines but that's not what it states on the letter. Do I pay this fine or appeal it? Thanks in advance

Just had a look at Cavendish Street on Google Earth and zoomed in on the yellow sign to find it is about littering and dog fouling!
Anyway Double Yellow lines indicate restricted parking at any time and do not require signage.
Any part of a vehicle, including the bumper, overhanging double yellow lines is a parking offence
I believe those rules apply throughout the UK( including Northern Ireland)
